The Celtic Arms

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Northop County Park, the Celtic Arms seamlessly blends tradition and elegance to create a very unique dining experience. Of all the restaurants to choose from in the surrounding North Wales landscape, few offer the scenic views and panache of The Celtic Arms.

The Celtic Arms is a traditional restaurant that you need to experience for yourself, at least once, if you are visiting North Wales. For locals, we look forward to welcoming you time and time again.

We take pride in the staff that we employ at The Celtic Arms. They are passionate, enthusiastic and provide attention to detail in everything they do, ensuring that you feel warm and welcome when you visit. The expertise of our kitchen team is unparalleled. They work consistently and effortlessly to create new menus and dishes throughout the year to provide variety across all of our menu offerings. Fresh produce and ingredients provide excellence across all of the dishes that we serve.

Take a walk out onto the large decking area to really absorb the natural beauty of Northop Country Park. Sip a glass of prosecco, enjoy a beer and watch the children enjoy the large garden and purpose-built play area that we have to offer.

We also cater for large parties, so if you are celebrating a special occasion, please take a look at our functions and events page.

If you enjoy the theatre, The Celtic Arms is ideally located for your pre-theatre dinner with Theatre Clwyd just 2.5miles away. Extend your afternoon or evening and join us before the show starts.

Sometimes food is more than food, it’s an experience, a moment, a memory waiting to be created. We look forward to helping create those memories.

Meet the team
Meet the fantastic team at the Celtic Arms that help keep the restaurant at the very peak of it's performance. With an outstanding service record, acute attention to detail and a genuine desire to put customer satisfaction first, Neal and his team will ensure you have a wonderful experience whether you are eating, meeting, drinking or having a well earned treat. We'll look forward to meeting you.

Scott – Sous Chef

Scott, aka Dotty,  has worked for the company for over a decade now and is a very experienced chef. He has a very calm influence over the kitchen and keeps a cool head. With a keen eye for attention to detail he is a perfectionist when it comes to service and will not let anything leave the pass unless he’s 100% happy.  A very positive person, he enjoys a few pints after work.

Joe – Junior Trainee Supervisor

Joe is the rookie of the Celtic team, however what he lacks in experience he makes up for in enthusiasm. Joe has a big personality and LOVES the banter. He has a infectious personality and this has rubbed off on both the customers and the staff. Joe has hit the ground running and is proving to be a real asset to the team.

Eiros – Supervisor

Eiros is a a real hard worker and make no mistake he loves getting involved! He is very technical minded and likes to pass on his knowledge/opinion  to whoever is listening, the key is not to make eye contact! Eiros has extensive bar knowledge and knows his cellar and cask ales down to a tee. He also likes his whisky, so for those who are whisky novices Eiros is your man.

Steven – Assistant Manager

Steven, aka Sleepo, has only been working here at the Celtic for approximately a year or so, but with many years experience in the industry under his belt, his knowledge is vast.  When not up to his eyes in stock sheets, or running the floor, he enjoys putting things together and then taking them apart! Mostly towing devices or anything that involves nuts, bolts and ebay. Random but true!

Kirsten – General Manager

Aka K to the staff. K is very well respected within the ranks. She has been running & managing busy high street pubs for a good while, and  the Celtic Arms is no exception.  As well as running the floor, K has a keen eye for spreadsheets, margins, stocks & figures, so has her finger on the pulse in all departments. In her spare time K enjoys walking, looking after her cat and often enjoys the odd ‘ wee dram of whisky’ in order to wind down.

chris

Chris – Sous Chef

Having originally started at the Celtic Arms late 2014, after a brief time away, Chris has recently rejoined us and is a key part of the kitchen management team.   You’ll always know if he’s in the kitchen by the endless piles of sweets & goodies that are never too far away!

Marc Stunnel (2)

Marc – Assistant Manager

Marc joined the team at the Celtic shortly after it opened. A fitness fanatic, he enjoys hitting the gym in his spare time (when he’s not spending time with his young family) so if you need any training advice you know who to ask.

Darren-Hughes

Darren – Executive Chef

Darren has worked for us for many years now. He brings a wealth of experience to the role and works with the teams to help create menus, encouraging the development of new dishes.  His true passion is cooking and he loves the chance to be ‘hands on’ in the kitchen!
